DCM’s Deal In Korean Crowdfunding + Platform Showcases Asian Innovation

Osuke Honda, general partner of DCM Ventures, is looking to follow up on his successful investment in messaging app Kakao (a WhatsApp of Korea) by inking another deal in South Korea, this one in Tumblbug, an innovative crowd-funding platform for creative artists.

What sets Tumblbug apart from other crowd-funding plays such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo is its community element. Artists can raise money on the platform as well as connect online with fans and build communities. It’s an example of Asian innovation taking a lead.

I am interested in applying design thinking to the business. I love to code in Central Park on weekends and build something people love to use. You can reach me at sehwan@techforkorea.com
