Korea’s Daum Kakao Brings In 34-Year-Old CEO To Grow Its Messaging Business Overseas

Daum Kakao, the $7 billion dollar internet company that owns messaging app Kakao Talk and recently bought Path, has turned to youth after hiring a new CEO to push its business forward and grow overseas.

The organization, created last year when messaging firm Kakao merged with desktop internet firm Daum, is replacing its existing duo co-CEOs (who stayed on after the merger) with Ji Hoon “Jimmy” Rim, the 34-year-old founder of Daum Kako-owned VC firm K Cube Ventures.

I am interested in applying design thinking to the business. I love to code in Central Park on weekends and build something people love to use. You can reach me at sehwan@techforkorea.com
