Wearable Startup Zikto Wins Silver Award At 2015 Design for Asia Award

Wearable startup ‘Zikto’ (CEO: Kyung Tae Kim) won Silver Award at 2015 Design For Asia Award (DFAA) with its gait correcting smartband Zikto Walk.

DFAA, hosted by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Hong Kong Design Center, discovers noteworthy companies and designers in Asia and celebrates their design excellence. Since its launch in 2003, DFAA has become a reputable international design award in Asia. In 2014, Apple and Xiaomi won Gold and Silver Award respectively and this year, Zikto was the first small, medium-sized business to win the award.

Zikto Walk, this year’s Silver Award winner, is a gait-correcting wearable band that was commended for its leading technology and unique design. Especially considering Asian sedentary lifestyle, gait correction ultimately leads to improve the overall quality of life as a preventative tool and thus promote well-being.

Jong Yun Lee, Zikto’s Chief Designer, “We are honored to have Zikto’s philosophy to improve quality of life through gait correction to be acknowledged at DFAA. Zikto Walk is the culmination of our unique technology and innovative design excellence.”

Zikto is part of the Contents Korea Lab Program sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Creative Contents Agency. Selected to be part of their startup program in 2014, Zikto received support in office accomodation, research, and international expansion and launched Zikto Walk last October.
