Cosmetics Analysis App ‘Hwahae’ Breaks 4M Downloads


Birdview (CEO: Woong Lee)’s cosmetics information app, Hwahae, broke a record of 4 million cumulative downloads this past month - an increase of  one million downloads since last August.

Hwahae is a cosmetics analysis app that helps users to find the perfect cosmetic product based on the ingredients and customized review data. It has been the number one cosmetics app in both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store since its debut in July 2013.

With more than 1.1 million active monthly users, Hwahae is not only the most popular beauty app in Korea, but it also has a database of more than 2.8 million ingredient information and 1.9 million user reviews of 79,000 Korean and international cosmetic products — making it the largest cosmetic platform in South Korea. More than 90% of the users are women, among which 60% are in their 20s and 30s.
“With a boom in the cosmetic industry, more consumers are demonstrating interest in cosmetic ingredients, resulting in an increasing demand in seeking the best cosmetic products through various criteria such as ingredients, reviews, and rankings.
