Kakao Pay Partners with Show Me the Money 6 to Give Out Prizes

Kakao Pay (CEO Ryu Young Joon) announced on June 30th that it will participate as an official sponsor of Mnet’s popular rapper survival audition show ‘Show Me the Money 6‘.

Show Me the Money 6, with its first episode broadcasted on 6/30, boasts a series of lineups of famous judges, producers and Korean rappers, and has garnered a lot of attention from fans in the past 5 seasons.

To celebrate the launch of the new season, Kakao Pay will present KRW 100 million in cash as the prize money for the winner of the lottery system. Participating in this promotion event will allow select users to win special prizes for every episode of the show.

As part of the partnership with the show, the company also introduced ‘Envelope,’ a new app design that was developed collaboratively with the audition program. The ‘Money Transfer Envelope,’ released on the 20th, is a feature that conveys various unique messages such as ‘Congratulations,’ ‘Here’s your allowance’ and ‘Save money’ when transferring money through Kakao Pay. With this new feature, users will have more more fun transferring money in a virtual yellow envelope.

In Season 6, Kakao Pay also plans to prize those who use the ‘Show me the money envelope’ 10 Final Round tickets via a lottery.

“I am very pleased that Kakao Pay is partnering with ‘ShowMe Money 6,’ which is one of my favorite audition shows in Korea” said Ryu Young Joon. “In addition to remittance promotion events, we plan to run a more promotions for our Kakao Pay users throughout the season.”

Kakao Pay ‘remittance’ is supported by 16 domestic financial institutions including KB Kookmin Bank, NH Bank, Shinhan Bank, KEB Hana Bank, SC First Bank, KDB Industrial Bank, Daegu Bank, Jeju Bank, and can be used without restriction on the number of remittances and requires no commissions.
