This year is the 15th anniversary of the “2017 Ground Forces Festival,” the largest military festival organized by the Army. Attracting more than 600,000 visitors annually, the event includes various events such as weapon exhibitions, experiencing army life, concerts, etc.
“KT 5G Land” is KT’s promotion event for its 5G user experience. It was held at the Haeundae Beach in August, at Jara Island during the “Voyage to Jarasum Festival” in September and will soon be held at the ‘2017 Ground Forces Festival.’ For this year’s 5G Land, KT prepared a venue and a racing stadium inside a large dome tent. There will be various attractions, including the 5G technology experience and the drone racing tournaments.
On the 9th, second day of the festival, the ‘KT 5G Drone Racing with Soldiers’ will be held at a race track made of military weapons and vehicles. Min Chan Kim, Young Rok Son, members of KT’s Drone racing team, Giga 5 and 10 top notch Korean racers will race a total of 8 rounds.
In addition, the Drone Clash showcase will be held on the 8th and the Drone Academy will be held from 10th -12th with the Army Information School.
In particular, Min Chan Kim, who won the International Drone Racing Competition last month, was appointed as the ambassador of the “2017 Ground Forces Festival” and will present a drone performances at the opening ceremony.
At the ‘KT 5G Land,’ there will be the first ever MR (Mixed Reality) game arcade (HADO), VR attraction, arcade game, and Instagram challenge. KT will also be giving out various prizes such as Wekey Pocket Bluetooth Keyboard, Galaxy Note 8 magnetic charger and Rootree body cream throughout the event.
