Viva Republica Co., Ltd., which runs a mobile wire transfer and payment service ‘Toss’, was recently named one of the leading fintech companies in the world.
Among the top ‘Fintech100’ companies 2017—an annual collaborative report between H2 Ventures and KPMG—Viva Republica was the only Korean company.
The Fintech100 celebrates top companies in the financial services industry: the 50 ‘established innovators’ and 50 ‘emerging stars’ in the sector. The Fintech100 in 2017 included 41 fintech companies from the UK and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), 29 companies from Americas (North and South America) and 30 companies from Asia (including Australia and New Zealand).
Viva Republica ranked no. 35 among the 50 ‘established innovators,’ becoming the first Korean company to enter into the top Fintech100 firms this year.
More than 1,500 companies around the world were extensively researched and analyzed based on these core factors: total capital raised, rate of capital increase, geographic diversity, sectorial diversity, and other X-factors, such as degree of product, service and business model innovation.
“It is a great honor to be chosen as the only Korean firm among the top Fintech100 companies for the first time in history,” Viva Republica CEO and Founder Seung Gun Lee said. “We would like to thank our customers who have made this possible, and we will continue our work as a leading Korean fintech company.”
